senior legal practitioner with a career spanning more than 30
years, John McGaw is experienced in almost every facet of commercial
and corporate law.
John
heads MacGillivrays’ Business Services department providing
advice on corporate and commercial law to a diverse range of business
clients. His experience and business acumen provides an invaluable
dimension to the firm’s capacity to service businesses and
corporate clients particularly on corporate governance matters
and strategic corporate restructuring.
One
of John’s special areas of interest is structuring and restructuring
small to medium sized businesses to achieve the right legal framework
to fulfil business goals and protect assets. His advice has lead
to the successful set up and restructuring of a diverse range
of organisations in industries including civil engineering, transport,
sandmining, fishing and aquaculture.
As
well as his significant expertise in local business, John works
extensively with international clients to develop their business
interests in Australia. For these clients, John advises on all
aspects of commercial and trade practices law, corporate structures
including joint ventures, franchises and companies. Food law is
a growth area for John encompassing issues such as transportation,
environmental controls, import and export requirements, maritime
law and international treaties.
